Photo Review: V-Moda Vibe earphones
This week we review V-Moda's Vibe earphones. These sophisticated, hand-crafted earphones deliver the goods in looks and performance.
Packaging and Box Contents. The Vibe Case's packaging is shown below.
Inside the box, you get the Vibe earphones, leather pouch, cable manager, and VIP card for V-Moda promotions. You also get six pair of silicon fittings - small, medium, and large in both black and white - that all but guarantee you'll get the fit you need for your ear, and the look you want.
The close-up shots below show the craftmanship of these earphones. The soft silicon fittings isolate outside noise, and according to V-Moda enable deep bass through its BLISS (bass level isolating soft silicon) technology.
Each earphone weighs in at 12 grams. Earphone comfort is a highly personal matter, but I found the soft silicon fitting to be very comfortable and to be a secure fit.
The gold-plated headphone jack looks great.
The plastic cord wrap can be used to keep excess cable out of the way.
So how do they sound? I tried the Vibes with a variety of music on my Zune - from Rolling Stones to John Coltrane to the New York Philharmonic - and found the Vibes deliver on V-Moda's promise of "vibrant bass, vivid mid-range, and vivacious highs". The difference was striking when switching from the Vibes to lower-end headphones while listening to the same track.
