Ultra hydra mp3 1 GB/2GB player from Tiger Direct
« on: October 06, 2007, 11:35:24 AM »

This mp3 player is cheap, small, runs on a AAA battery, plays FM music, and takes voice memos.  I get about five hours of battery life out of a rechargable Energizer 900 mAh AAA battery.  I bought the thing on an impulse when I was considering buying a hard drive based mp3 player.  Regular price for this was about $50, and the price after rebate was $30.  This would be a really great little mp3 player except the thing doesn't recognize that any audio is in the memory if you max out the memory by taking too many voice memos.  Otherwise, this is a VERY durable player that you don't have to worry about like one of the higher end players like Zune, Sansa, and iPod players.  Ultra even gives you a three year warrenty with this device.  Check it out:

Does anyone else have this product?  I wonder if the firmware will ever be updated to fix the

In my experience, color screens on portable electronics mean shorter battery life and less durability.  I'm afraid to drop my zune, but I'm not afraid to drop this because I already dropped it many times without so much as a skip in the music.

Maybe some people noticed this when most cell phones on the market became color with a zillion extra features Smiley
