Heading to Experience Music Project tomorrow
« on: September 28, 2007, 05:11:07 PM »

My wife gave me some tickets to EMP in Seattle Center earlier this month, so we are going there tomorrow.

I've been wanting to go for a long time.

Anyone been?

No, but it sounds like a blast. I've read about this somewhere, and thought it looked cool. Have fun!

Just got back. We had a good time at EMP.

I think my girls found the exhibits so-so, but ZuneWidow and I enjoyed the guitar gallery and history of northwest music. One of the current exhibits was on the history of hip-hop and although we're not followers of that music, it was fascinating to see how that music started and evolved.

Highlight for all four of us: the sound studios, where you can play instruments and sing using professional equipment.

Along with the admission to EMP, you get entry in its adjoining Science Fiction Museum. That's a smaller set of exhibits, with some fun props and replicas from the usual line-up: Star Trek, Star Wars, Blade Runner, and many more. A lot of the items came from Paul Allen's personal collection.

I'm in Oklahoma. Would it be worth the trip up there?  Grin

Um... it's cool, but I'd combine with a few other Seattle activities, just to make your trip worthwhile.  Smiley
