I have the 30gig black. I can get 1 or 2 songs, 1 or 2 pics as long as I place them 1 at a time. afterwards, i cant play any of the songs. I then try to place a playlist or more than 2 songs and I get this: "zune device is not reponding, Error code: cood124d" I have found a few topics on this but no help. can anyone tell me what I can do about this? This problem started after the new year. Ive spoken 2 customer support with no help. Ive updated the software, Ive updated the device software, Unless i did it wrong. Ive downloaded the zune device.exe software. I cant seem to find the problem. Thank you for your help

Hi, I´m up the creek with no paddle. Bought the Zune 120 last autumn in the hope it would work in Sweden, where I live. It did not. This autumn I tried again and downloaded a new version of the software and suddenly it worked. I have spent months organising and editing my content and all was well until before Christmas. My computer with Windows XP broke down (the screen). I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I downloaded the Zune Software and tried to plug in the Zune 120. It would not have it (I was unaware it would only sync with the host computer). I plugged it back into the old computer, asked it to "Forget this device" and I cleared it of all content. I tried again on the new computer, but still no luck. The new computer says that it is unable to update the device.
Thereafter I have scanned all possible websites and I have tried to reboot and to initialize disc. Now the device is in stage 2 after initialize disc, it says to plug it in to the computer for update of the program files and software. When I do, Zune says it cannot. I have also tried on the old computer, but it is the same reply. When I search for updates of the Zune software with no device plugged in, it says my software is up to date.
I really like the Zune functionality and would hate to have to switch to Ipod. But I'm out of options. Since Zune is not marketed in Sweden or Scandinavia (yet?), Microsoft in Sweden has no interest (and possibly also lacks the skills).
Any ideas? It would be greatly appreciated.

ERROR MESSAGE:
After about a year that I bought my zune, I started getting a message in my zune saying that I need it to connect to the PC and then to make an update in the zune software, I did a couple of times and my zune got updated fine, but recently, after my zune asked me, again, to hook up my zune to the PC and to update it, at the end, I got a a message saying the following:
ERROR DURING PLAYER UPDATE
There was an error while trying to update your device with the latest software. Please try again.
Summary: Your player did not update
ERROR CODE: C00D1249
Can somebody help me to solve this problem?
Thanx.

Probably need a few more details, although it looks like this is a motherboard problem. here is a repost that is actually pretty good info.

Do you use Twitter? Zune Support is now on Twitter, and I understand the response is very quick. http://twitter.com/ZuneSupport Try to phrase your question in 140 characters and try it.
