For all of you having trouble converting your videos... SIMPLE SOLUTION..
« on: March 28, 2007, 05:59:17 PM »

okay simple as this, many of you may smack yourself and say D'OH! for something so easy. I've tried this with all different types of video formats and its worked flawlessly.

Step 1: First off, open the folder you have your videos located in. For example we'll use My Videos.
Step 2:  Go to the top to tools, click and go down to folder options.
Step 3: Once you've opened folder options go to view and the second section should be hidden files and folders, scroll that list and uncheck the box that says hide extensions for known file types. Apply the change and exit out of folder options.
Step 4: Now all of your files should show the extension after the title of it. For Example we'll use the format .mpg.  so a file reads now  Eminem - The Real Slim Shady.mpg     - Right click the file and go to rename.. simply delete the .mpg and replace it with .wm      It should now read  (for example) Eminem - The Real Slim Shady.wm

Zune will recognize and convert this file now during sync, sometimes you may have to restart your computer for Zune to recognize it. It's never failed me. So good luck to you all

any questions just shoot me an email to either DaSmit@comcast.net or G_UnitRebel@yahoo.com

If you already paid for Cucusoft why would you bother trying this? And the results I got with this modification were far from perfect. The movie kept randomly skipping to different parts and was rather fragmented than whole...

yeah this wont necessarily work, and could potentially mess up your video if you only had that one copy of it... any time you change a file format like that you *should* get a warning message explaining what i'm about to- in that, different formats are read/encoded in different ways... changing an mpeg to a wm could easily mess up the way that file is read by your computer, and thus, make it unusable. try opening an mp3 file in notepad... it's similar to that effect (h)
