This guide is fricking awesome!!!!! i got my Zune yesterday and i didn't have any WMV format videos so i thought the video feature was a waste. But then i found your guide on Google and tried it out!!! No problem at all. The first movie i put on my Zune was Hellboy and I'm doing another one now!!   Thanks for the awesome guide!!! Hey, ive been through all of these tutorials and tried them all, but this one looks like the best... but i keep getting an error.
Everytime i get to about step 5 of dvd-wmv, where it starts to actually encode the movie, it comes up with an unhandled exception, and tells me the profile isnt valid... any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm getting this same error.
Does anyone know how to fix this error?

Just gotta throw my $.02 in...  With so many people having so many problems, it might be worth considering a commercial product like Pocket DVD Wizard or M2Convert. Both support the Zune directly, and both perform the rip/conversion process with about two clicks. I don't work for either company, I just hate the hassles that go with devoting hours to this stuff and ending up with crashes or files that don't play, have audio-sync problems, etc. Sometimes you just gotta buy software!  Grin

I can't even download the DVD-WMV software. I'm operating on vista, so I chose the download that said it icluded the fix for Vista users.  Well, I get toward the end and windows blocks it for not having a valid digital signature. Any way around this?

IF it wouldn't be too much of a bother could a few people tell me their average time it takes to convert to wmv...cause right now mine is telling me about 11.5 hours and that seems rediculously long.....

What kind of a computer do you have? I have a new Dell e521 and it takes about an hour and a half per each movie. I'm sure it takes crappier computers with practically full hard drives a lot longer.

No, you don't need a DVD burner - just a DVD rom. It's not writing anything to a DVD, just pulling from the DVD drive.

ok.. i copied my first movie..  Casino..  took some time but i followed the instructions explicitly...  a couple of problems im encountering...   the picture looks narrow.. in other words  horizontally condensed.. makes everyone look skinny...   its a widescreen DVD and i used the widescreen format and all other specs according to the tutorial...  the other problem..  the file saved As  CASINO.wmv  but when i transferred it to zune... it was nameless... any help would be greatly appreciated   thanks..   the file was about 900mb..  3 hour movie..  but im guessing i could go with a lower kbs
