« on: April 10, 2012, 04:05:10 AM »

"Does anyone know of a plugin for Final Cut Pro or a stand alone editing application (Mac based) for mp4 - h.264 files? It seems that the standard and most recommended method for working with mp4 HD camera footage (Flip or other consumer HD-camera files) in Final Cut is converting the lossy format to Apple Pro-Res 422 or DVCProHD or other lossless codecs for stable performance and editing." from http://answers.oreilly.com

Do you also encounter such kinds of problems? Can't edit the handy .mp4 into FCP? Generally speaking, the most .mp4 can be accepted by Final Cut Pro like the Sony .mp4, .mp4 downloaded from YouTube, iTunes MP4 files, etc. However, there are still some .mp4 can't be recognized by Final Cut Pro, for MP4 is the container format and can be of different codecs. In the case, convert those .mp4 into Final Cut Pro supported codec like MOV, would be an easy way out. Doremisoft MP4 to FCP Converter can do the conversion.

It can accept almost any source of .mp4 file format like:
1. camcorders recorded MP4 like: Flip series camcorder, Samsung HMX-H100 camcorder, Sanyo XACTO HD1000 Full HD camera, Flip camcorder, JVC GY-HM100, JVC GY-HM700 and more.
2. MP4 from handy media player, portable devices or files download from YouTube, etc
3. Plus, it can also make you to edit MP4 into FCE or MP4 in iMovie.
4. Also do the conversion from AVI in Final Cut Pro

Guide on how to convert MPEG4 to FCP for editing:

Click "Add File" to load the MP4 file(s) to go to "File" menu then choose "Add Video Files" to locate the MP4 files into the MP4 to FCP Mac converter.

2. Choose Final Cut Pro as output format
You can DV as your output format. Also you can customize the resolution, bit rate and frame rate of the output file.

The Mac MP4 to FCP Converter also can edit your MP4 before you start the conversion. It has some simple editing functions like split, crop, trim, add effect etc. Details in the guide of Video Converter for Mac (Snow Leopard included).
