Convert Panasonic DMC-G2 AVCHD Lite to .MOV for FCE
« on: May 27, 2011, 11:50:14 PM »

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 can record 1,280 x 720 high-definition motion images in AVCHD Lite that features long recording time and high compatibility with audio-visual equipment. You can enjoy recording HD motion images taking maximum advantage of lens' descriptiveness and interchangeability or the large sensor size. HD Motion JPEG in 1,280 x 720 can also be selected as an alternative movie recording format, which is more compatible with computers and perfectly compatible with iPhoto, iMovie. However, Final Cut Express doesn't support editing of AVCHD or AVCHD Lite videos directly. Imported AVCHD or AVCHD Lite clips are automatically converted into the Apple Intermediate Codec format, which requires the following three elements:
More hard disk space (40GB per hour as opposed to 13.5GB per hour for Standard Definition DV),
More powerful machine (an Intel-based Mac)
More recent OS (Mac OS X 10.5).
