Seen around the Microsoft booth at CES

8 January, 2009 (20:12) | zune news | By: Harvey Chute

Microsoft has a commanding presence in the central concourse of the convention center. Some good square footage is given to Zune, alongside Windows 7, Windows Mobile, and other Microsoft flagship products. Here are some shots, starting with this pic from yesterday as the booth was being set up prior to the opening of CES.

There are lots of opportunities for conference attendees to get hands-on with Zune players. A variety of flash and hard drive Zune players were on display to play with and listen to.

Cards were available to redeem for 14-day free trials of Zune Pass. (You can also get a 14-day trial online at Zune.net.) It’s great to see Microsoft seriously plugging the Zune Pass as a differentiator.

Microsoft provided Skullcandy headphones for listening to the Zunes.

I ran into Brian Seitz from the Zune team, who I know from Zune MVP trips to Redmond. Cesar’s around somewhere, although we didn’t cross paths today. And here I am with Jessica, who many of you may know as Jethereal from the Zune.net forums.

Not pictured, are large flat panel monitors where people can explore Zune software. The area is well-staffed with members of the Zune team.

The square footage allotment, and the thought that went into the Zune part of the booth area, tells me something good about how intentional Microsoft is being about promoting Zune right alongside its flagship products.
