Polls are now closed on the 3rd annual Golden Zune awards – the “people’s choice” awards for Zune websites.

In this 3rd annual vote, I had quite a bit of negative feedback from other Zune website owners, who felt that the field was slanted too much in favor of Zunerama. And clearly that is the case, as Zunerama regulars are presumably already registered in our forum, and can vote without need for going through the step of registering.

In fact, the moderators from one site refused to participate, and deleted threads on their site that mentioned our little Golden Zune tradition.

On the other hand, I’ve noticed that many people are members of more than one site, and contribute to multiple sites. So it seems that quite a few of the active Zune site members are already registered in multiple forums. That partially offsets that concern, but I don’t deny the home-field advantage that is intrinsic to our hosting of the awards here at Zunerama.

I will try again to find a neutral solution for the awards next year. In the meantime, the only board I have control over is this one, so until we come up with a better solution, we’ll continue to host the Golden Zune awards here on Zunerama.
